All committees have two topics each. Delegates are expected to write two policy statements for this conference, pertaining to their first two committee topics (if there are more than two topics). A rubric detailing what is expected in these policy statements can be found in the Rubrics tab under Conference.
Policy papers will be scored by two chairs. Each score is out 50 points and then the sum of those scores are taken to get a total final score out of 100 points.
The relevant rubric can be found on the Rubrics page. These scores will inform the overall awards process. An exemplary example paper can be found with the Position Paper rubric as well.
All position papers for all delegates are due TWO WEEKS before the start of the conference, or by 11:59 p.m. Friday 11/01/2024 MST time. Each delegate's submission should be a single pdf including the photo release form. Even though there are two papers to submit, they should be put together in a single pdf with the photo release form. Please upload these PDFs for each school's submission by clicking the button "Upload" below. The button will take you to a Google Folder, partitioned into folders for schools where you can add all the position papers for your delegates by committee. Each file MUST be titled as "COMMITTEE NAME_COUNTRY NAME/CHARACTER NAME". **FAILURE TO FOLLOW THE FORMATTING GUIDELINES FOR FILE TITLES MAY RESULT IN DEDUCTED POINTS**
Please include the signed Photo Release Form in each position paper submission, which can be found at the bottom of this page.
Tools to combine PDFs or Word Documents with PDFs are available here: 1. Link A 2. Link B
Chair applicants, as explained in the Chair Applications Section, will not have to write position papers.
Reminder: Please note our team is offering the opportunity for delegates to receive personalized feedback on their position paper drafts prior to the conference. If you wish to receive this feedback, please submit your drafts (which do not have to be complete/perfected in any capacity) by 11/06/24 11:59 p.m. MST Time. This is NOT mandatory. Please note that whatever a delegate submits at this stage will not have a bearing on their final score whatsoever.
If you have any issues in uploading or submitting, please contact us, so we can help you resolve the problem as soon as possible.
